Jump on It

shop the look:

Jump on it, y’all. Yes, I’m talking about the jumpsuit train. I freaking love jumpsuits. Not only do they instantly make you look taller or your legs longer, they are just so flattering and FUN! I instantly feel a little more sassy in a jumpsuit. I dunno what it is about a jumpsuit. Perhaps is my love for the 60s coming out. Orrr maybe it’s just that I want to take a longer stride when I walk. Whatever it is, jumpsuits make me feel good.

I saw this one and sort of died. The silk printed red and the plunge neck and the backless detail? Oh and the slit legs? SO many amazing details that somehow just all work together. It gets better though. When I originally saw it the price was around $120. When I bought it, it had been marked down to $80ish. Now, it’s 40% off of that! Most of the site is on sale, too. It’s just too good to pass up you guys. I’ve also worn it belted which only adds to how flattering it can be and is just another one of the countless ways to wear it. Throw a denim or leather jacket over it on a cooler day or throw your hair up in a bun on a hotter day to show off that open back. However you wear it, I think this outfit is a show stopper.

This is obviously festive for Valentine’s Day. But, this is a piece I’ll be wearing year round. Jumpsuits are so versatile and can be worn dressed up or down. This would be such an easy vacation look paired with sandals and a straw hat. You could dress it up for a wedding, too. I can’t wait to style this piece again and again. Jumpsuits are always on my mind, so I’ve rounded up a few other current favorites for you below.

SHOP THE LOOK:

I’m looking forward to date night tonight! I’m not a huge “Valentines” kind of girl. I think that showing you care about others is always important and that you should always make time to do spend quality time together. But, I do love a good excuse for a good meal, so we use Valentine’s Day as just that. We don’t go above and beyond with gifts (I’ve said a million times over that we aren’t big into getting each other ‘things’) so our holiday is pretty relaxed without much pressure. We’ll enjoy some good wine and head to one of our favorite Italian spots. It’s rare that we get to do a night-out date night during the week this time of year with my fiancé’s busy season, so I’m excited for a break in our weekday routine!

I’m also so thankful to work with kids on fun holidays like Valentine’s Day. Especially middle schoolers. It’s SO cute seeing them all get Valentine’s togethers and handing them out. Really, it just warms my heart and brings back so many fun memories from childhood. I used to spend so much time and effort on my Valentine’s box and making sure I picked out the perfect card to give to each of my friends or teachers. I have a day full of meetings at work tomorrow, so I’ll be festive by wearing some red and indulging in some chocolate and Sweettart hearts. I hope whatever your plans are– whether it’s date night, Galentine’s, or a night relaxing by yourself is just what you hope for! Also, remember it’s a great time to go out of your way to brighten someone’s day. Maybe someone you know just went through a breakup or has been extra stressed out at work. Letting them know your thinking of them with a card or some candy might just make their week!

Happy Valentine’s Day to each of you! XO

PS: haha spot the goosebumps on my legs in that close up shoe picture? It was 40 degrees and oh so windy outside when I shot this. Shout out to Vanessa from The Retro Penguin for quickly getting all these shots so that I could run back inside to the heat.
