No Gray Area

It doesn’t get any more classic. From photos to movies to clothing, nothing will replace this combination. I’m talking about the two colors that dominate my wardrobe- black and white. Even though gray is the third most common color in my closet, I’m keeping this post a no gray area for today. Black and white are powerful on their own, but particularly when paired together. It’s chic, it’s cool, and it’s timeless. All of my clothing in these colors get the most wear because they seem to stay in style longer than a bolder color or pattern. I rocked dresses combining black and white several times (four to be exact) during NYFW, so I wanted to share those looks with you today, talk a little bit more about this combo for Fall, and share a roundup of some more of my favorite black and white dresses.

I love how classic this one is, but it adds in the Fall trend of ruffles or frills. It’s just a simple white button down dress, but the ruffle detail and black belt that came with it added a fun touch. I played off the belt by keeping the rest of my accessories black. These sock booties are a huge shoe trend for this year, which I am loving because they are so comfortable. These are originally under $100 and currently on sale, which makes them even better!

This dress caught my eye immediately online. When I got it in, I didn’t know if I would like the tie detail, because it felt a little girly or vintage compared to things I usually gravitate towards. I loved it when I tried it on and knew I wanted to style it by edging it up a bit. I wore these black sock booties again, paired it with a black moto jacket, some black sunnies, and some statement earrings. I love this dress! It’s so comfortable and versatile and is a piece you’ll keep for years. The little check detail around the edges added one more fun touch that makes this pieces so special.

Again with the tie detail, but this one had it’s own edge built right in with the faux lace up detail on the bottom. With the white at the top of this dress, I knew I wanted to pair it with these white booties. If you don’t have a pair already, they are probably THE biggest accessory trend right now. See more about them and tons of options to shop in this post. This dress received so many compliments from other influences, street photographers, or just randoms stopping to tell me they loved the look. This brand is one of my favorites because of the intricate detail in all of their designs.

This one is the most subtle of the four with the color combo, but I love that about it. It’s understated and gives off total sixty vibes when paired with these booties. I love the flared sleeve and the tie details. You can actually wear the tie around the neck facing forwards or backwards, which makes it fun! I played off the white ties with not only my boots, but my sunglasses and earrings. I wanted a little bit of color in this look to add a statement, so I grabbed this green tote bag.

Below are my current favorite black and white dresses. I included them in a big range of prices and styles, so there is something for every occasion. To shop, simply click on any of the photos below and you’ll be taken to that product’s page.

I’d love to know your thoughts on my posts this week with rounding up several outfits in one and sharing just one or two images of each look rather than several. Some outfits just call for looks from every angle in a more traditional blog post format, but others I think it’s fun to see a trend shown in several different ways!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week. Despite being super tired and behind feeling after being gone for several days at fashion week, this week has seemed to go by fast for me! XO
