Valentine’s Day is such a fun excuse to make some plans and have a good time no matter what night of the week it falls on. Whether your plans are to go out, stay in, spend the evening with girlfriends, or a special someone, Cupid’s favorite holiday provides a fun reason to dress festive. Today, I’m sharing my tips for dressing for Valentine’s Day including this featured outfit and a roundup of tons of cute options whether you are staying in or going out.
I’ve done it all over the years: from going out with a group of girlfriends, to staying in to binge watch movies and eating, to cooking a nice dinner at home with my significant other (one of which resulted in the fire department showing up, haha) and going out to a good restaurant on a date. I’ve had a fabulous time doing any and I hope that no matter what your plans are, that you make it into a fun night! We’ve made reservations at a sushi restaurant we’ve been wanting to go to together. If you plan on going out and haven’t made your ressies yet, get to it! It’s less than three weeks away.
Once you’ve got your plans somewhat nailed down, you can get to the important stuff- like the outfit. I’m sharing this look from Express with you all today as some Valentine’s Day inspiration! We keep Valentine’s Day relatively simple, so a typical going out look with heels and a few little red accents are just perfect for our date night. I matched my lip color to my fun booties and the little touch of red on my shirt. I’ve been wanting a classic red pair of high-heeled booties and these were perfect! They make such a statement and are comfortable enough to wear all night. This t-shirt is so easy and perfect for me, because we are heading to France this summer together. It says “You, Me, Oui.” So simple and cute! I styled it tucked in slightly to high-waisted jeans and with a blazer over it. This jeans are so comfortable and will let me eat indulge in our dinner with feeling uncomfortable by the end! I love the relaxed fit of this blazer and the blush lining only made it all the more perfect for Valentine’s Day! I love that I’ll be able to repurpose it with other outfits and even wear it to work.
You all probably know by now that I am not a pink girl, so I stick to red accents on this holiday. However, I do love blush and like incorporating that when I can. My tips for dressing for the big day are to be true to your style. If you aren’t a pink girl like me, don’t fee like you have to wear it. You can be festive by doing something as simple as a red lip or go all out in a red dress. Whether I’m going out or staying in, eating is always on the agenda, so I like to be in something that is forgiving and comfortable enough that I won’t be miserable by the list bite of dessert.
I also wanted to round up some of my other favorites from Express to help you all find what you need for your Valentine’s Day. I’m including some choices you can wear for a night in or out on the town.
