Miami Outfit Recap

Do you get excited to plan outfits for certain events or occasions? I definitely do! I was so excited to shop for outfits for Miami for a recent long weekend trip I took there with some girlfriends. The city has such a fun, tropical vibe and I love playing off a city’s vibe when I’m traveling. I was all about palm prints, easy + breezy styles, color (a new development for me as of late) and being a little ‘extra.’ I’ve been breaking up my travel recaps into guides and outfit recaps as of lately to make it easier for you all to find what you’re looking for when on the blog. You can see my Miami travel guide to get info on where to stay, where to eat and drink, where to go out, and what to do. Today, I’ll be sharing my Miami outfit recap with you all so you can easily shop each of my looks all in one place.

Above is my travel look. I always love a good, cozy sweatshirt because I’m almost always freezing when I’m on a plane. I loved the color of this one and the ‘tourista’ slogan makes it perfect for traveling. This weekender bag fit SO much stuff in it and I love the black and natural contrast. My luggage comes in a set of three different sizes and is super affordable.

I wore this little dress that I got c/o Peixoto when I get in to Miami. My other girlfriend and I got in town first and went to lunch at Cecconi’s at Soho House while we waited on our other two friends to arrive. This is the perfect day time dress and can even be dressed up with heels. It also makes a great swimsuit cover up! It comes in white with colorful pompoms, too.

I wore this dress out to our dinner at Mandolin the first night. I saw this dress last year and wanted it immediately. I’m glad I waited until a beach trip to buy it, because it was perfect for vacation! I loved how light weight it was. Our first night was pretty casual, as we just went home after dinner so we were well rested the next day, so a long maxi and sandals was a great outfit. I got these earrings for Miami, but I’ve been eyeing them for months. I know I’ll wear them so much! All the different colors in them make them seriously match almost anything.

I wore this swimsuit and cover up to the pool party we went to at Hyde Beach at the SLS on Friday. I love this cover up! It can be worn as a dress if you layer a black slip dress underneath or you can wear it as a top with a bralette or tank underneath and pair it with shorts. SO many fun options. Its under $45, too. I love the mix of colors and patterns in this swimsuit, too!

How amazing is this dress? It’s what vacation dreams are made of! I love all things backless and add in sequins and I just can’t so no. Plus, I love all the palm print I can get when I’m somewhere beachy. I want to wear it on every vacation. It’s perfect for drinks, dinner, and/or a night out. I paired it with white strappy sandals and my go to clutch of the weekend (and always). I thought I needed to size up in this, but honestly I’d say its TTS (true to size).

I had this dress saved for a trip or special occasion for a while! I loved the fit and style of it. It was perfect for our morning after brunch on Saturday at 27 Restaurant at the Freehand Hotel. It’s so flowy and easy! I actually had my entire wallet stolen the night before (Ughhhh) so all that was in my purse was my phone and some lipgloss. haha! Thank goodness for Venmo.

Dress (Midi Version, Two piece set version: top, bottom) // Earrings // Shoes // Bag (another option) //  Sunnies

I bought this the second I saw it because I knew it’d be perfect for a night out in Miami. The night I wore this we started our night with a ton of sushi at Blue Ribbon and then went out and about from place to place. We had SO much fun!! Maybe too much, haha. I played off the black and white stripes in this dress with matching earrings. I wish you could see them better in these photos because they matched perfectly! This dress also comes in a two piece set version that is oh so cute. I loved that one, too but it was sold out of my sizes when I was ordering things for my trip. It’s been restocked since, so hurry and grab yours before its gone again!

I love this two piece set because it looks like a dress, yet you can mix and match the pieces to create a few different looks. It also comes in a beautiful orange color. I was gonna go with that, but had already bought so much color for this trip that I went with old faithful black. I recently bought these shoes and am obsessed. I love a little twist on a classic style and these were too fun to pass up! They were surprisingly comfortable and I know I’m going to get so much wear out of them. I’m pretty sure these shoes and these multi-color earrings again are my new go to fun accessories. These sunnies are, too. I wanted to play off the color in my earrings to these were perfect.

Last but not least, my travel look home. This dress is a ‘one size’ fit and you can adjust the waist tie to be as tight or as lose you as you need. Perfect for an early flight home after a long weekend. This would be such a great dress for any of you expecting a baby, as you can adjust it as your bump grows! This tote I’m carrying is my go to bag for work, travel, and every day use. It has compartments for everything so you can keep all of your stuff organized including a padded one for your laptop and a drink holder. Legit best tote bag EVER!

Shoutout to my girlfriends with me on this trip who took my photos throughout the weekend and to the Clinton Hotel for the perfect place to stay! You can read more about the hotel and all my recommendations in my Miami travel guide post. XO
