Few combos are as classic than a shirt dress and booties for Fall. It’s such a simple outfit, but there are so many varieties to it. I shared some of my favorite shirt dresses a few weeks ago and I bought this one as soon as I finished up that post. I have since continued to find ones that I love to add to my wardrobe. They are truly one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you will own! Even if you splurge on one, you’ll get great so many wears out of it. Particularly if its one you can wear to work and out! I adore shirt dresses with booties, but I also love them with OTK boots, sneakers, and heels. I really can’t think of a shoe they wouldn’t go with. It is so easy to layer shirt dresses under jackets when it gets cooler outside, too!

One thing to keep in mind when shopping for shirt dresses is your body type. For example, I have a very long torso for only being 5’6”, so I have to be careful that shirt dresses aren’t too short on me. This one would be a little too short for me to wear to work, but this velvet one was just perfect for the office and also for after hours. If I’m splurging on one, I want to be able to wear it to work and out after, but even if its just one that I’ll wear after hours, I know it will be something I wear countless times year after year.

Our apartment is currently in chaos which seems to have a domino effect on several aspects of every day life. I am a big neat freak, so when things are messy I just feel like everything is out of order and ‘off.’ We have boxes all over, but are waiting to pack some things until next week because we are still using them every day. We move on Wednesday into our new place and I can’t wait to get things back in order. I am one of those people who when I move, I want everything out of the boxes and all the boxes broken down and out that day. I may still be getting organized in the days to come after moving, but at least everything will be out and slowly going where it belongs. I’m trying to not let all the current chaos (and mess) stress me out too much, but it’s definitely not my norm! I can tell our sweet pup is confused by it all, too. If anyone has any tips for acclimating your animal to a new home, I’d love to know!
