Softer lips in three minutes

No matter the season, sometimes my lips are so chapped its beyond what a quick application of lip balm or chap stick can fix. Whether it’s from the cold wind in the winter or too many hours spent in the sun during the summer doesn’t matter. What matters is fixing them.

I become extremely distracted when I’m talking to someone who has really chapped lips, especially when they reach the point of being flakey. I can’t help you as easily with flakey people, but for flakey lips I’ve got a quick three ingredient lip scrub that will give you softer lips in three minutes.

Below is all you need: Olive oil, honey, and a spoon full of sugar.

IMG_2074_2Start by putting a teaspoon of olive oil, a teaspoon of honey, and a spoon full of sugar in a small bowl.IMG_2075_2

Then, mix the olive oil, honey, and sugar until the ingredients combine.

Next, apply the scrub to your lips using your finger.

Make sure you cover all of your lips.

After about a minute of gently scrubbing your lips, rinse with water, then pat dry.

Finally, apply your favorite balm or chap stick to your softer and smoother lips! I’m obsessed with my EOS lip balm and always find myself making this same silly pucker face whenever I apply it.

As with your skin, you should not exfoliate your lips every day. I do this about once a week on a regular basis, or sometimes twice if my lips are especially dry and chapped.

Quick steps to softer lips in three minutes:

  1. Combine 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Mix together until a paste forms.
  2. Using your finger, put the scrub on your lips, and move it side to side to scrub your lips gently for about a minute.
  3. Rinse your lips clean with water, then pat dry, and apply your favorite balm or chap stick.
