To stay in or go out? This is the question we keep asking ourselves since New Years Eve is just a few days away. Sometimes, its more of a hassle than its worth to go out on New Years. By the time you get your surging Uber, go to dinner with likely a prix fix menu, and go to a party, then get an even higher surging Uber back home, you’re looking at a really pricey night. Plus, the big parties or different events an often be hyped up so much that they are a bit of let down or just a cluster. This has led us to asking the question of if we even want to go out or not and what our NYE plans should be. Our six month wedding anniversary is on the first, so we want to do something to celebrate, but aren’t sure how we want to and when just yet! I figured many of you may be in the same boat as us, so today I wanted to round up some clothes and accessories no matter if you plan to go out or stay in.

If we do decide to go out this year, I’ll be wearing this dress. I had a hard time deciding if this one or this one that I shared last week was my favorite, but I’ve decided I just love the structure of this one. It’s different and a little edgy, but not ‘too NYE-ish’ where I won’t wear it again. I styled it with classic pumps because I love them and then my toes won’t freeze, some fun double hoop earrings, and a darker reddish-plum lip. I added this fun personalized clutch that says “Lo” on it and was a fun gift I got c/o Allie & Co. If you’re in need of a fun gift for anyone (think bride-to-be, etc) this clutch would be perfect!

FOR A NIGHT OUT

I think a quick way to guess a girl’s age is on NYE to see whether she brings out a coat or not. Haha this may not always be a fool-proof plan, but I swear my girlfriends and I always thought of a coat as a burden or like it would ruin my outfit. I love wearing either a sequin bomber on NYE or planning a coat that goes with my look so I am not freezing going in and out of places that night. You never know how long you’ll have to wait for an Uber or something outside, so may as well come prepared. A lot of my favorites below can be repurposed to wear again, which I love. You can see more of my sequin top picks and black top picks in this post from last week.

FOR A NIGHT IN

A night in on NYE doesn’t have to be boring! Some of my most fun NYE in the past few years have either been at someone’s house or out at a ranch or something else a little more chill! It’s fun to decorate, wear fun glasses or hats, drink out of festive cups or glasses, and still sport some sequins. You can make your night in festive with some of the fun stuff below!

If we decide to stay in, I’ll probably opt for some comfy sweats and a fun sequin accessory or two.

Whatever your plans are this NYE, I hope that this helps you get what you need to be festive and ring in 2018! We are headed back to Dallas today after being in Arkansas with Charles’s family the past few days. I am pretty excited to get home and take down our holiday decor. We put it up pretty early (#bloggerprobs) and I have since gotten in a lot of new stuff for our new place that isn’t quite in the exact spot it will be because of the holiday decor. I can’t wait to get things a little more in order while I have a few days off. Oh, and sleep. Give me alllll the sleep!! Hope you all have a fabulous day! XO

  1. I adore your dress! This year I also can’t make up my mind if I’ll stay in with my husband or go out and celebrate. I think my favorite way to celebrate is at someone’s house (or ours) with friends, with lots of laughter and silly games. And tons of glittery stuff! 😀
